Dacia J. Cenat engages in a civil litigation practice emphasizing professional malpractice defense and business litigation. Ms. Cenat joined Hansen, Kohls, Sommer & Jacob, LLP as an associate attorney in February 2016. Before Hansen Kohls, Ms. Cenat worked as an associate attorney and law clerk for a boutique law firm in Sacramento. Additionally, Ms. Cenat completed internships with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, the Placer County Public Defender’s Office, and the Florida Senate.
Ms. Cenat earned her Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in May 2015. She graduated with distinction and was admitted to the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society. While at McGeorge, Ms. Cenat served as a comment staff writer, legislation staff writer, and primary editor for the McGeorge Law Review. Ms. Cenat received Witkin Awards for earning the highest grade in the subjects of Legal Research and Writing and Juvenile Law.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cenat earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida. She graduated summa cum laude in 2010, majoring in political science with an emphasis in pre-law and minoring in legal studies and Spanish.
