Leighton B. Koberlein engages in a civil litigation practice emphasizing business litigation, insurance bad faith and professional liability defense in both state and federal courts. 

Mr. Koberlein obtained his B.A. degree in Classical Studies with an emphasis in Latin from Brigham Young University, Utah, in 2004.  In 2007, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  Mr. Koberlein graduated with distinction and was admitted to the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society.

Mr. Koberlein began his civil litigation practice in Fresno, California. During his time in Fresno, Mr. Koberlein worked as an associate at Ericksen Arbuthnot, handling cases in construction defect litigation, employment litigation, and professional liability.

In 2015, Mr. Koberlein relocated to Placer County where he joined Knudtson & Associates, P.C., handling medical malpractice defense and personal injury defense cases on behalf of individuals and health care professionals throughout Northern California.  During his time at Knudtson & Associates P.C., Mr. Koberlein gained significant case management, trial, and private arbitration experience.  In August 2019, Mr. Koberlein joined Hansen, Kohls, Sommer & Jacob, LLP, as an associate attorney. 

Mr. Koberlein is a member of the State Bar of California, the Sacramento and Placer County Bar Associations, and the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada. In addition to state court, he is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court of Eastern California.
