Gina Marie Bowden engages in civil litigation practice emphasizing the professional liability defense of attorneys and insurance professionals in both state and federal courts, including matters before the State Bar of California.  She also represents entities and individuals in business litigation, as well as in a variety of other civil and corporate disputes.  

Ms. Bowden began her legal career in 2008 with Hansen, Culhane, Kohls, Jones and Sommer, LLP (a predecessor entity to Hansen, Sommer & Batchman LLP).  Since then, she has worked for or with the firm on a number of significant cases. Prior to her rejoining the firm full time, Ms. Bowden was “of counsel” with a well-established Sacramento area firm, where she predominately worked on high stakes civil cases and performed complex law and motion work.

Ms. Bowden obtained a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento in 2004, and her Juris Doctor, with great distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2007.

While at McGeorge, Ms. Bowden served as Chief Legislation Editor of the McGeorge Law Review and achieved membership in both the Traynor Honor Society and the Order of the Coif.  She also received Witkin Awards for academic excellence in several subjects including Professional Responsibility, Legal Process, and Mediation. Ms. Bowden is a member of the State Bar of California, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and the Placer County Bar Association. She has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern, Northern, and Central Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit.
