Alissa J. Strong engages in a civil litigation practice emphasizing professional liability defense, insurance defense and business litigation. Ms. Strong graduated Summa Cum Laude from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition and a Minor in French in 2003. She continued her studies at Santa Clara University School of Law receiving her J.D. in 2007.
While at Santa Clara University School of Law, Ms. Strong was President of the Santa Clara Student Chapter of the Federalist Society during her third year and received numerous awards including the CALI award for excellence for earning the highest grade in her Comparative Criminal Law course, and Best Oral Advocate and Best Oral Advocate Team in her Advance Legal Advocacy Class. During her second and third years of law school, Ms. Strong worked as a Law Clerk at the Katherine and George Alexander Community Law Center in San Jose, California where she was responsible for research, motion and brief writing, and law and motion hearings and oral argument.
Ms. Strong began her civil litigation practice in 2007 with a civil litigation fellowship at a Sacramento non-profit organization where her practice focused on property rights and environmental law. In September of 2009, Ms. Strong joined Hansen, Kohls, Sommer & Jacob, LLP as an associate attorney. Active in her community, Mr. Strong is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association, the Placer County Bar Association, California Women Lawyers, and Women Lawyers of Sacramento, where she recently served on the Board of Directors for over six years. Ms. Strong is admitted to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Central District of California and is a member of the California State Bar.
